THE GALÁPAGOS WILDLIFE DOESN'T HAVE AN "OFF-SEASON"

In honor of Charles Darwin’s birthday today, February 12, we have put together some quotes to celebrate the illustrious man. Of course, Darwin has gone down in history as a celebrated naturalist whose book, The Origin of Species, changed the way we look at the world and initiated studies of adaptive radiation.

When it comes to a place as special and unique as the Galápagos Islands, offering different trips that cater to different needs and interests is important. Located about fifty miles off the southern coast of Isabela, Floreana (or Isla Santa Maria) has the smallest population of the four inhabited Galapagos Islands, with just over 100 residents. Beginning in the 19th century, Floreana has been continuously inhabited by whalers, pirates and settlers, drawn to the tiny island by its natural water source and lush green season.

The International Galápagos Tour Operators Association is an organization ROW partners with in South America that is dedicated to the conservation of the islands along with responsible tour operating. 

As you may or may not have already heard, Wolf Volcano, a mile-high volcano located on the northern part of Isabela Island in the Galápagos, erupted Monday after a 33-year rest.
